Nikola Tesla

This amazing exhibit celebrates the life and work of Nikola Tesla, a Serbian inventor, who arrived in America prepared to transform the world. His combined skills as an electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist and futurist gave him the necessary tools to create amazing inventions. Best known for his design and patents for alternating current and wireless transmission of electricity. Tesla’s achievements literally brought light to the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition.  His inventions are so deeply ingrained in our society it is hard to imagine our lives without them. On August 6, 2013, Rahm Emanuel, Major of the City of Chicago declared the Nikola Tesla Day in Chicago at the opening of “The Genius Spark of Nikola Tesla” exhibit.

Were we to seize and eliminate from our industrial world the results of Mr. Tesla’s work, the wheels of industry would cease to turn, our electric cars and trains would stop, our towns would be dark, our mills would be dead and idle… His name marks an epoch in the advance of electrical science. From that work has sprung a revolution.
